Cooks Steakhouse is owned and run by husband and wife team John and Janette McKie and with their nephew Ross, making this a true family affair.

John and Janette have owned and run Steakhouses for over 20 years and, with Ross, continue to provide the highest standards of food and service.

Janette is our front of house person, making sure every customer is given the service they deserve. Customer care is Janette's priority and every detail is taken care of. To stay the American way! Awesome! Huge portions, with an excellent price to match. I have been twice; once for a dinner with my husband for the A la Carte menu and once with some friends (and wine!) after work for the Early Eater. Both delicious! Friendly staff with pretty and comfortable surroundings made this a place to revisit! A friend said they also do parties and private dining so we'll definitely be back, with the girls from work and for the family doos! Hope to see you all there!

Four of us, all serious carnivores, paid our first visit to Cooks American Steakhouse knowing little or nothing about the place and were pleasantly surprised to recognise the owners from a previous incarnation. The place is neatly laid out and simply furnished and we were looked after by pleasant, knowledgeable and smiling staff. The starters were excellent and that was the lull before the storm. The steaks arrived shortly after and were a sight to behold. I had the surf and turf which was cooked exactly as requested and her ladyship took delivery of the largest ribeye I have ever seen. 'Surely this had to be for 4 people' I asked. I was informed that they are normally very generous with their portions. Fortunately, one of our party who has been known on occasion to eat a whole cow before breakfast, was on hand to help out as her indoors, would never have been able to finish it and had we taken home a doggy bag we would have had to stop off to buy a large dog. Altogether a wonderful friendly experience and we will return there again soon, and will know not to eat for 3 days prior.
